FIRST® is an international organization dedicated to the inspiration and education of young minds in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). This organization is made up of robotics programs for many age groups including the Junior LEGO® League, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST® Robotics Competition. With games changing yearly, each program provides a new challenge in design and execution of a brand new student-built robot.
FIRST® values Gracious Professionalism® and Coopertition®, heavily emphasizing these traits throughout all competition. In order to compete with Gracious Professionalism®, teams treat each other with kindness and compassion alongside maintaining their competitive spirit. Coopertition® furthers this goal by encouraging teams to aid their competitors during the heat of competition. This both helps all teams in FIRST to compete to the best of their abilities and for everyone to share knowledge and learn as much as they can.
